Metro Parks Website
This project was a full responsive website design for the Columbus Metro Parks. I worked on both the design and planning, but was also heavily involved in the configuration and development of this custom WordPress site. The existing site had a huge amount of pages and information, so the content strategy was a huge part of the design process
Design Goals
One of the the biggest design goals was showcasing some of the amazing photography taken at the different parks. I decided to design each page to utilize its own featured image header, which allowed for each park to stand out while still keeping unified layout. We also took advantage of media queries to allow the images to scale appropriately for smaller devices.
The site was also designed to take advantage of the ability to display alerts, both site specific and park specific. This feature is incredibly useful for situations where an individual park may close due to weather or flooding.
As part of the style guide for the site, I designated a unique color for each specific park that could be used throughout the site and reservation system.
